Testosterone Based Fashion Mistakes
Tee-Totalled
By Nathan Nelson
What’s summer without t-shirts? Well if we’re talking about women then for me it is heaven, but put into the context of fashion then we have a season that is missing its trademark flavour. A t-shirt is probably the most customisable part of your outfit. The message here is don’t take your tee lightly, you can give it as much importance as you want, a plain white tee with jeans will probably set you apart as the most average guy in a crowd. But mix it up with say, a purple t-shirt and you might stand out for slightly better reasons.
You can wear practically anything on your chest and it won’t be frowned upon; putting a superman crest on your jacket looks, well, dodgy. So if you do have any personal beliefs (religious or otherwise) you want to push upon people, then a t-shirt is probably the only acceptable means of doing so as far as apparel is concerned.
In terms of colour, electric blue, black and white are good for a smooth, suave look. However, summer is the t-shirt season, and an assortment of bright colours like green, red, purple, orange and yellow, is worthwhile – not on the same tee, mind. The best way to go is with a smart, unique, and most importantly fashionable design on your tee. Funny and original designs are found in abundance just about everywhere you can buy a tee. But let’s think about it… it can’t be corny or cheesy – that would only work in a kitchen. Unless of course that’s exactly what you want to express. If so, a design like ‘Vodka – Connecting People’ will be perfect for you.
But this is your look we are on about for heaven’s sake, have some pride! Don’t wear random slogans you don’t believe in, have faith in me when I say you will never pull it off. Picture the geekiest guy you know wearing ‘I Fuck on the First Date’. Finally fellas, only go for something which screams true innovation, true art or just screams sexy, not to the detriment of your outfit, but rather the benefit of your style.
